The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kinango Technical and Vocational College is one of the most vibrant and well-equipped technical departments in Kwale County. It offers a comprehensive range of competency-based programmes designed to produce job-ready graduates who can meet the growing demand for skilled electrical and electronics professionals in Kenya's energy, construction, manufacturing and technology sectors.
Our programmes are delivered under the national CBET (Competency-Based Education and Training) framework, accredited by CDACC and regulated by TVETA. Students undergo intensive practical training in our modern electrical installation workshop, electronics laboratory, power systems workshop, and solar PV training yard — ensuring every graduate leaves with industry-relevant, job-ready skills.
The department trains students at three qualification levels: Diploma, Craft Certificate, and Artisan Certificate — making quality technical education accessible to students with varying academic backgrounds, from KCPE holders to KCSE graduates. All programmes are HELB-eligible and qualify for KUCCPS government-sponsored placement.
