The Office of the Deputy Principal – Academics welcomes you to Kinango Technical and Vocational College. This foreword serves to reaffirm our commitment to academic excellence, skills development, and innovation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

As an institution, we strive to provide quality education that empowers learners to become competent professionals, creative problem solvers, and responsible citizens who contribute to national and global development. Our academic programmes are designed to meet industry standards, foster lifelong learning, and promote entrepreneurship.

We take pride in creating an environment that supports both personal and professional growth, ensuring that every trainee attains the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in today's competitive world. The Academics office works closely with all seven departments to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery, assessment standards and co-curricular activities.

Our office oversees 41 courses across seven teaching departments, all delivered through the competency-based education and training (CBET) framework as prescribed by TVET-CDACC, KNEC, NITA and KASNEB. We remain dedicated to nurturing the next generation of skilled, innovative and industry-ready graduates who will drive Kenya's socio-economic transformation.

 Key Academic Responsibilities
Curriculum Oversight
Coordinating implementation of KNEC, KASNEB, NITA and TVET-CDACC curricula across all seven teaching departments.
Examinations & Assessment
Supervising internal and external examination processes, ensuring compliance with KNEC and CDACC assessment standards.
Teaching Quality
Monitoring trainer performance, supporting professional development and ensuring delivery of high-quality, competency-based instruction.
Research & Innovation
Promoting a culture of research, innovation and industry engagement to keep academic programmes relevant and forward-looking.
Student Academic Welfare
Overseeing academic progression, supporting at-risk learners and ensuring every trainee has a fair opportunity to succeed.
Industry Linkages
Facilitating industrial attachments, collaborative training programmes and partnerships that enhance the employability of graduates.
