About the Department

The Department of Business and Entrepreneurship Studies at Kinango Technical and Vocational College (KTVC) is dedicated to nurturing competent, innovative and ethical business professionals who can thrive in Kenya's dynamic and competitive economy. We offer a comprehensive range of programmes — from Artisan level for KCPE holders through to Diploma level for KCSE graduates — covering Business Management, Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management and Information Communication Technology.

Our programmes are delivered under the national Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework, accredited by the Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) and regulated by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). Diploma programmes are also examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

Situated in Kwale County — a coastal region with a booming tourism sector, expanding SME landscape and significant county government activity — KTVC business graduates are well-positioned for employment in banks, microfinance institutions, county governments, hotels, NGOs and thriving self-employed enterprises. The department emphasises practical entrepreneurship skills alongside core business theory to produce graduates who are both job-ready and enterprise-capable.
