KTVC Growth Milestones
September 2019
KTVC Founded — Centre of Excellence in Electrical & Electronics
Established under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013. The college opened with 13 students and 7 teaching staff, focused on Electrical & Electronics Engineering with state-of-the-art equipment in Mackinnon Road Township, Kinango Constituency, Kwale County.
2020 – 2021
Expansion of Departments & Programmes
The college expanded to introduce Business Studies, Fashion Design & Cosmetology, and Computing & Informatics — significantly broadening training opportunities for students across Kwale County and the wider coastal region.
2022 – 2023
Infrastructure Growth & KUCCPS Recognition
KTVC gained KUCCPS approval, enabling government-sponsored student placements. Infrastructure expanded with new workshops, laboratories and student welfare facilities. Mechanical & Automotive Engineering and Building & Civil Engineering departments were launched.
2024 – 2025
Over 1,000 Students & 35+ Teaching Staff
Within five years of founding, KTVC grew to over 1,000 enrolled students and more than 35 teaching staff — a remarkable transformation from the initial 13 students, demonstrating the community's confidence in the college's programmes and quality of training.

41 Courses Across 7 Departments — Fully CDACC Accredited
KTVC now offers 41 courses across 7 departments at diploma, craft certificate and artisan levels. Fully accredited by CDACC, regulated by TVETA and HELB-eligible — the college continues to grow as the premier TVET institution in Kwale County.
